Worship Director

Canvas Church is seeking to find the next Worship Director. This person will strive to create and consistently lead the Sunday Morning Worship Experience empowered by the Holy Spirit. The Worship Director will build a healthy team of musicians that embrace our values of excellence, growth and honor and provide a high quality and engaging worship experience.

Main Responsibilities:

Oversee Sunday Morning Worship Experience at Canvas, producing a service that is engaging, free of distraction and promotes excellence for both the in-person and online experience.
Conduct Sunday morning practice with worship team and production. Troubleshoot any last minute flow or tech issues.
Help coordinate and lead worship for YTH on Wednesday nights.
Provide oversight to the Production and Worship team.

Lead, manage and hold accountable by conducting weekly check-ins, addressing performance issues and wins in real-time.
Schedule worship team volunteers.
Be willing to communicate as needed during the week.

Develop a discipleship/mentor culture within worship teams; raise up leaders to disciple/mentor others.

Build and maintain a positive and healthy team environment that ministers to each other.
Mentor and develop the worship team members on performance elements as well as spiritual growth by providing real-time feedback and regular check-ins.
Continuously recruit and develop new leaders/team members.
Develop a set of worship team volunteer expectations.

Engage with the staff team to develop and maintain a healthy and thriving church.

Meet with the Lead Pastor regularly and coordinate with the church staff to establish service order and flow.
Work with Production to maintain all sound/tech equipment.
Attend weekly staff meetings and special project meetings.

Regularly evaluate systems and initiate improvements and best practices to improve worship experience.

Alongside the Production team oversee new set designs 2-3x/year from the concept to development stage, leading a team of Lights Leads and other volunteers for stage tear down and set building.

Other Responsibilities:

Help foster and develop youth worship team
Respond to email in a timely manner
Work with media and worship in the church “Planning Center Online” system
Attend Canvas Church service when not leading worship
Be accessible to the Canvas congregation after Sunday service

Time:

20-30 hrs per week
Office: Monday, Tuesday, and/or Thursday (some flexibility here)
Sundays Service: 7:00am - 12:00pm
Wednesdays: 5:00pm - 8:00pm
Special Events throughout the year
